Sunwing is now offering flights and vacations to more destinations and remains an option. If you are coming from the USA then the best cities to fly from are Miami, Houston, Atlanta and New York.
The first things to decide is when to go? Between March and the end of August Roatan has a low historic record of rain and so this gets our best choice but don't fret otherwise.
La Ceiba is the port on mainland Honduras where you can catch the daily ferry to Roatan. La Ceiba is an interesting destination in itself - beware you are now in CA (Central America) proper so take a little extra care how you present yourself.
