Do I need to bring adaptors to Roatan for my electric equipment? Your devices will plug straight in if you come from Canada or the USA. But we don't recommend it read on to see why..
The adaptors you will need if you are coming from europe are same ones as to fit US and Canada systems. Most laptops will work out and account for the different voltage but you should check on the power block it will tell you. In Roatan it's the 110v system but if you can have the space pack a surge protector.
There are reasons that a worldwide travel adaptor is a good idea even if you arrive from the USA or Canda with the same pug type:
- Surge protection- modern adaptors offer fuse and sometimes circuit protection against surges which cann happen in less modern power systems such as that in Roatan.
- Extra ports that come with a modern adapter allow more than one device to charge at a time. A 17W travel adapter will rapid charge mobiles simultaneously along with cameras and slowly charge your laptop. If you want to fast charge everything then look at the high powered 120W GAN chargers.
For European visitors we recommend coming with a surge protector and travel adaptor or one with circutiry buit in ike this one.
