Only West End (Roatan) in terms of the place im living in!!!! The best place as one can dive from there buy stuff and find budget accommodation and other gringos but not too many-yet.

So here we go with another day more rain interspersed with memories of a cloudless day some where back there in recent history. I get the chance to write again now because of this wonderful rain, well yes it is called a wet season but nobody did say anything about it raining all the bloody time.

I rant….

Merry Christmas- Christmas was weird reminded me of being away in Thailand two Christmases ago, nice to miss the stress of present buying and parking, and bad weather, but I think its just as bad here in that respect. At least I got to go diving, and the evening before was fun. Some ba*^%#ds decided to steal the tip jars off of the bar in monolocos.

Monolocos (crazy monkey) is a very nice bar and with great music and cheap drinks. I get on well with the manager and know its been a tough season he has been getting drink stolen, from break-ins at night and getting his tyres slashed. Like this I see less motivation to stay here other than for having fun, an investment area I don’t think so. People are investing in one thing, as like in your part of the world the sure fire thing seems to be property! It seems its like the great land grab, and this for me seems sad, get your land put up a big barbed wire fence and keep out the riff raf!!!

On Christmas day Mickey and Ruth invited close friends and us the friends a little less so but divemasters in our dive shop, (these two guys lead the dives and are great people) to their place for Christmas dinner, which has now been happening for 4 years. It was a nice dinner and we did a secret santa where 20 or so people brought gifts and we all left with a different one , I ended up with a nice china kind of ashtray come, soap dish, multi use piece.
