Got to do a night dive on June 7th With Reef Gliders in West End. Great dive led by there instructor Cameron (I think) from Scotland.
Any way Seaquest is a nice easy night dive spot with a ledge at 15 ft and then a mini drop down to 45 ft lots of sand in front of the 45 wall so you can swim easily along and check things out.
Saw lots of Lobsters, Basket Stars out in all there glory and a puffer fish floating through.
The highlight of the dive was actually the incoming squall which produced some lighting in the distance putting on a pretty good light show along with the bio-illuminescence. We turned off our lights and chilled in the sand patch and checked it out for a while. When the lighting would flash you could see the whole reef for a second which was really a cool view.
The best part is we surfaced, got on the boat, made it back to the shop, rinsed and everything before the rains came upon us.
In Feb I was at Bay Islands Beach Resort and they had a group of divers in doing rebreather training. I am not sure but I think it was a special occasion that had been set up in advance.
I am not into rebreathers but I have a good friend in Florida that is into them and is always asking me if its possible to get tri mix fills and the filter material (I think its soda lime) anyway if anyone knows where to find this stuff on Roatan or when more of this type of training is going on post back so I can let him know.
Hi I live down here in Roatan and I have some fins for sale. If your looking for some Mares Clipper fins (good for snorkeling mostly) I have size 9-11 new that my friend left that did not fit him. $20 if you want them let me know or email me at mcartini@yahoo.com
