Title: Roatan dive sites Post by: rubyjean on August 24, 2006, 11:57:43 PM :) When I was in Roatan last March I got most of the dive sites I wanted to go to from the last Lonely Planet Guide. Someone told me that most of the sites listed there were out of date. What would you guys say are the best sites to dive? I didnt go to Texas or Marys place which I guess are favorites. thanks Rubyjean from Wisconsin

But it doesn't take much to make any site your new favourite. All it requires is some nice rare macros, an eagle ray, a moray encounter, a little nitrogen narcosis and shark siting and presto you've got a new fave.

I'm working on getting some dive site information up on the website. If anyone has any photos for inclusion I would be glad to get them You can PM (personal message) me or just reply to this post attaching the photo. Thanks ruby for contributing, my favourite site here is probably -my god I really dont know I like texas but also like hole in the wall as led by mickey charteris the legend himself. :-\ Title: Re: Roatan dive sites Post by: William Welbourn on November 04, 2006, 12:37:28 PM Hole in the wall is one of the sites that gives my customers the biggest smiles, but you have to have someone who knows it VERY well as most people don't even know about the best parts of it. You also have to be happy with swim throughs. Other than that Greg has listed all my favourites.

You're leaving out Pino's favourite!!! ;D There is a site that can be fantastic for finding critters!!! Lobsters, morays, flamingo tongues, arrow crabs, yellow headed jawfish, spotted drums, banded coral shrimp, pistol shrimp, Pedersen's shrimp and even the occasional nurse shark, seahorse and eagle ray... Plus all the other suspects... Lighthouse Reef cannot be left off this list!!! |
